BuyBoard® and Maryland Association of Boards of Education Collaborate
AUSTIN, TX — The National Purchasing Cooperative d/b/a BuyBoard® and the Maryland Association of Boards of Education (MABE) announced today that the organizations have entered into an agreement to bring more visibility to a streamlined cooperative procurement process available to Maryland school districts in support of public education in the state.
BuyBoard is a nationwide purchasing cooperative and already includes more than 20 participating Maryland school districts. The agreement with MABE will help more Maryland school districts learn about BuyBoard’s benefits including its easy-to-use online purchasing platform and wide range of vendors and competitively awarded contracts that may assist school districts in meeting their state and local purchasing requirements.
“BuyBoard provides Maryland school districts with a trusted purchasing solution that saves them both time and resources,” said Brian Bolinger, associate executive director at the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB), which administers BuyBoard. “It’s important that we build bridges across our states that ultimately help strengthen public education for all students.”
BuyBoard was created to simplify purchasing for public entities while maintaining transparency and helping with compliance. All BuyBoard products and services are competitively procured, which may save members time and resources from having to go out to bid on their own. Membership is free for all public school districts and other governmental entities.
BuyBoard is active in every state and has millions of products and services available from more than 2,000 vendors across the country. By becoming a BuyBoard sponsoring association, MABE is the 20th school boards association to sponsor BuyBoard to support cost-effective purchasing across the education community.
